14 Day Namibia Camping

 The 14 day Camping Safari of Namibia , a quick tour of this vast mosaic of landscapes . You’ll see the abundance of wildlife in natural settings and experience the tranquility of some remote areas.

Meeting with some local people will be an experience to remember.

Text Box: Day 1:
Departing from either coastal town we head south towards Sesriem Campsite, passing through the Kuiseb and Gaub Canyons. Tours departing from Windhoek will travel over either the Gamsberg  or Spreetshoogte Pass. Arrival at Sesriem Campsite early afternoon . After putting up camp we head to a vantage point for a sundowner. 
Dinner will be a barbeque or cooked meal..
Early morning rise and we drive to Dune 45 to view sunrise from the top of the dune, and then on to Sossusvlei where we have breakfast.
For the energetic, there are more dunes to climb.
After breakfast  we  proceed to the parking area at Deadvlei. The walk to Deadvlei is about 1,3 km. Here you can spend  time  photographing and enjoying the tranquility of the Vlei.
Upon returning to the parking area, we have a light lunch in the shade of the trees. After lunch there is a choice of either going on to Hidden Vlei or returning to the campsite. After the worst heat has passed in the afternoon, we do Sesriem Canyon and view the sunset from here. 
Dinner will be a cooked meal.
Day 3:
Today we move further south and visit Duwiseb Castle. Here, in the middle of nowhere, Baron von Wolf built a magnificent castle for his lovely wife. 
From here the route takes us along the Tiras mountain range to Aus where we camp. Dinner will be a cooked meal.
Day 4:
We rise early morning and drive to Luderitz on the west coast of Namibia. En route we visit the wild horses at Garub. After visiting Luderitz, we drive to Hobas Campsite at the Fish River Canyon. We camp here for the night.
Dinner will be a cooked meal.
Day 5 :
After breakfast we view the magnificent Fish River Canyon, (second only to the Grand Canyon of America) and then break camp. We drive to Keetmanshoop, the Quiver Tree Forest, Giant’s Playground, and then towards Mariental and the Hardap Dam, where we camp for the night.
Dinner will be a cooked meal or barbeque.
Day 6:
An early departure from Hardap will get us to Windhoek where we replenish supplies. Then on to Hohenfels Campsite, about 250 km north,  near the Waterberg Nature Reserve.
Dinner will be a cooked meal.
Day 7:
After breakfast and breaking camp, we travel to Namutoni, our first stop in Etosha. En route we visit Lake Otjikoto. At Namutoni we set up camp. Depending on our time of arrival at Etosha, we may do a late afternoon game drive. 
Dinner will be cooked meal.
Day 8:
We do an early morning game drive and then return to pack up and head to Okaukuejo, the Admin Headquarters of Etosha. En route, the best water holes are visited for game viewing.  We camp at Okaukuejo. Okaukuejo has a lit-up waterhole where game come to drink at night, and you will have the opportunity to watch this.  Black Rhino and Elephant frequent this waterhole at night.
Dinner will be a cooked meal 
Day 9:
We break camp early, and proceed along the western route to Otjivasando to camp at Hobatere Campsite. At an additional cost, you can partake in activities such as a night drive or guided walking trails. These have to be arranged prior to our arrival .

Day 10:
We take the road towards Opuwo where we re-supply and then head to Epupa Falls. We camp at Epupa Falls Rest Camp. In the afternoon we watch the falls and sunset from a magnificent viewpoint above the Falls.
 Dinner will be a cooked meal.

Day 11:
We do a general drive in the area, and also visit a Himba village. A raft tour can be booked at additional cost. The roar of the Falls and the fast flowing Kunene River make for a very relaxing atmosphere. 
Dinner will be a cooked meal.
Day 12:
We  depart early from Epupa, to enable us to reach the Ogongo Camp Site. We  pass through Opuwo where we quickly re-supply.  Driving along a very scenic route, we stop at some huge Baobab trees and Joubert’s Pass. At Ongongo Hot Water Springs you can relax in the crystal pool and recap the experiences of the day. 
Dinner will be barbeque.
Day 13:
We travel to Aba Huab campsite on the banks of the Abba Huab River.  Late afternoon we visit the Rock Engravings at Twyfelfontein,  the Burnt Mountain and Organ Pipes.
Dinner will be a barbeque or cooked meal.
Day 14:
Our last day will take us to the old mining town of Uis. If your tour started at the coast, we take the route towards Henties Bay and Swakopmund. Time permitting, a visit to the seals at Cape Cross can be fitted in. Arrival at either of the coastal towns will be late afternoon.

If the tour starts in Windhoek, it  will return to Windhoek along the route through Uis and Omaruru. Here we can visit the winery and root carving.  We then travel to Okahandja where we can stop at the Okavango Wood Carvings.  Arrival in Windhoek will be late afternoon.
